    Debate - 60 Min

    Description

During the Open Forum we would like to debate with decision-makers the vision and input of youth regarding three main topics:

1.Global Digital Compact and discussion of related priorities with the European Parliament delegation

The particular focus of this year’s discussion will be on how to promote the formation of youth consultation committees and/or bodies within the corporate governance structures of the organisations involved in Internet Governance, so as to facilitate the implementation of youth inputs to the Global Digital Compact. It is anticipated that the debate will include the .EU example of the Youth Advisory Committee.

    2. The Hiroshima process

The main idea is to exchange views between decision-makers/industry and young leaders from around the globe on AI governance and generative AI. We will also discuss the possibility for young leaders to be part of the implementation process and have their say on the issue of AI governance.

    3. The Declaration for the Future of the Internet

We will dedicate 15 minutes of the forum to the views of youth and exchange of ideas with decision-makers and industry on the Declaration for the Future of the Internet and the role that young leaders can play in further discussions on the topic.

The format of the Open Forum is intended to be a debate between the Youth IGF change-makers and the members of the European Parliament delegation to the IGF. We would like also to invite the leaders of other stakeholder groups to join this discussion. The Open Forum intends to bring together youth representatives from different initiatives to engage in an inclusive dialogue.

The session is foreseen as an open dialogue with equal participation onsite and online. The organiser and the co-organiser will give a few introductory tips.
