Andrew Maurer is the Assistant Secretary of the Spectrum, Treaties and Internet Governance branch of the Australian Government Department of Communications.
Andrew is responsible for providing advice to the Australian Government on the full range of internet governance issues, and for managing the government’s day to day involvement in numerous internet governance fora. Andrew has represented the Australian Government in the Governmental Advisory Committee to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, in International Telecommunications Union meetings, and actively participated in auIGF meetings.
In previous work for the Australian Government, Andrew has been responsible for deploying internet and telephone services in remote Indigenous communities, for developing advice for Australian consumers on cybersecurity matters, and developed the Australian Spam Act.
