Jimson Olufuye has more than 20years’ experience in the national and global ICT industry. He is a strategic thinker, analyst and a multi-tasking development specialist focusing on people, process and technology. He is passionate about the use of technology to transform lives, create wealth and accelerate development in Nigeria and generally in Africa.
He is the CEO of KontemporaryTM, a leading ICT solution company based in Abuja, Nigeria. He has distinguished himself at the United Nations Commission for Science and Technology for Development Working Group on Improvements to the Internet Governance Forum where he advocates interventions to sustain rapid development engendered by ICT and the Internet in developing nations.
He is actively involved in policies for cybersecurity assurance, broadband as a right, intellectual property right, internet freedom and the management of critical internet resources. He is directly involved in energising and transforming the Nigerian Information Technology industry through diverse ICT policy framework advocacy. Some of his efforts in collaboration with other stakeholders resulted in the establishment of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Galaxy Backbone Plc and the new Ministry of Communication Technology. As Vice-Chairman of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), he also advocates the ICT interests and needs of the 48-nation sub-Saharan Africa through active representation in International fora such as the UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF), the World Electronics Forum (WEF) and WITSA.
He served on many Federal Government of Nigeria Committees including Y2K (1999), IT Think Tank (1999), IT Policy (2000 & 2008/2009), IT Harmonization (2004); and on the board of many companies.
