Biography

Segun Olugbile is a technology graduate of the University of Ibadan and a Information Technology post graduate alumnus of the federal University of Tehnology, Owerri Imo state in Nigeria.

He is a National proponent of Developmental Cybersecurity as opposed to Militarized Cybersecurity in Nigeria and the founder/President of Global Network for Cybersolution (renowned cybersecurity advocate in the country). His area of focus is in Policy, Strategy, and Developmental Innovation, Project Initiative in Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Countermeasure for transformative engagement in cyberspace. Public Institutions and National government has been his main target.

Segun’s Developmental Cybersecurity strategy attracted the endorsement of Nigeria government via her Ministerial committees established for this purpose, thus culminating into its adoption as the fundamental framework for Nigerian Police counter-measure strategy against cybercrime. He is the current Project Coordinator of the Ministerial Technical Working Committee on Nigeria Police Cybercrime Emergence Response Team Strategy. He serves as Vice Chair Nigeria Child Online Protection (www.cop.gov.ng) in recognition of his successful development of the National Policy framework for Nigeria Child Online Protection Initiative adopted by Nigeria Communication Commission. He was the organizer of the 1st national conference on cybercrime and cybersecurity 2008 the first of such gathering on internet security and safety, and in West Africa subregion. He is Publisher of CybersecurtyAfrica Magazine, a print media solution to creating real life awareness while promoting cooperation and investment in internet security and cyberspace protection.

Segun is an official contributor to Nigeria IT Policy 2008 and Telecom Policy under Cybersecurity category and Child Consumer Online Protection. Official contributor to Nigeria Cybersecurity Legislation 2009 and 2011 till date, and recently appointed Technical Consultant to Nigeria IGF by Nigeria Internet Registration Authority.
