Sandra Hoferichter is Secretary General of the European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG), the European IGF. She is also Chair of Medienstadt Leipzig e.V., a German non-profit organisation that, among other things, coordinates the European Summer School on Internet Governance (EuroSSIG) since 2007. EuroSSIG was the first of its kind and as such an inspiration for around 20 Schools on Internet Governance (SIG) that exist today across the world. Since 2020, she has been Chair of the Board of EURid, the registry for .eu.
Due to these functions, she is well connected in the internet community and understands the different perspectives of the various stakeholders.
She has been organising the EuroDIG since 2008 and knows the processes that take place in a multistakeholder environment. Her daily work includes all logistical and administrative matters as well as taking into account the interests of the annually changing hosts, liaising with high-level participants, supporting the IG community across Europe, engaging with young people and new communities and doing fundraising. She has also participated in many debates on how to strengthen EuroDIG, IGF etc. as policy relevant forums and is one of the driving forces behind the NRI process.
